I will be in Brussels on Apr 1st
Dear all:
Sorry for the long silence in this blog. (If there are still somebody reading these crap).
I am still in Sierra Leone, Bo. Tomorrow I will depart to Freetown, and take the flight on Tuesday to Brussels.
I will stay in Brussels for 25 days, if I have the energy and time….I will try to write down what happened in Sierra Leone. Inshalla!!! After the so call “intensive language class” I will go to DR Congo directly for my next mission.
Fortunately, in my last weekend, one of the tele-communication company here offered 2 days free internet. Though the speed is too slow to download anything, but it’s enough to write some mails and post this article.
The days here for me are really busy and a little bit stressful, but anyway, I am leaving soon. It’s still difficult to say goodbye to everyone. Short mission……..very short……..

記得昨晚我本來只是想去超市買兩瓶飲料，讓我這個液體怪獸得以度過慢慢長夜。
但誰知道，看到標價之後就完全無法克制的一路狂買。
布魯塞爾的物價，真的是比巴黎便宜！
雖然沒有看到我最想買的Comte起司，但一包2.59歐元的燻鮭魚讓我毫無招架之力。
更不要說一瓶才0.17歐的choco topping! (就是巧克力布丁吧）
一包火腿也才0.99歐 ~~ 台灣都沒這個價錢吧？ （咦？其實我在台灣很少逛超市）

11/22~11/23 Aweil make it happen!

Aweil make it happen這個Slogan又出現了。
今天沒有手術，Raewyn仍然開心的教導她的幾個Local staff。
不過看著這些對於醫療一點概念都沒有的人，
拿著手術刀片放上，又脫下手術刀柄，只覺得驚心動魄！
早上又去OPD看了一下。
那些Local staff應該已經習慣我每天會出現短短的時間。

11/20 ~ 21 Party night!
11月21日，乾兒子孝澤周歲。
去年此時，我在拉薩等待乾兒子親爸的電話。
一年過去，我在非洲。
這一段時日，另外的發現是，
50歲的女人，其實與18歲的女孩兒並無二樣。

11/18 ~ 19 New comers
日子不一定每天都精彩，平淡是福。
11月18日 星期二
八點多，進Admin辦公室，跟Rx說關於黑盒子的事。
她聽了之後面色凝重，她說：
“我就知道你一定可以處理好的。因為你看起來像Jewish banker.”
唉，這不是我想聽的，我只想甩開這個黑盒子。
但……機率似乎渺茫。
昨天有很多人來，今天Florence就開口跟我多要錢。
我說，看看再說，先照舊，維持原案。
結果今天的食物還是足夠，唉…….這個洞該怎麼補？

11/17 Happy Birthday to Mom.
今天是媽媽的生日。
而附加的發現是，從蘇丹打電話到台灣的家用電話，
通信品質比打行動電話好太多。
Khaled和Emmarine早上都離開Aweil了。
早上去OPD換藥的地方看了一會兒，沒有插手太多。
但有一個小男孩（女孩?!）的指甲幾乎已經脫落一半，需要拔除。
這個聽起來仿若酷刑的小手術，顯而易見的需要事先麻醉。
但小孩是不可能配合做ring block麻醉的，得先放倒他們才行。
帶著他和他祖母(?)到IPD，詢問史醫師願不願意幫忙？
但史醫師立刻提出一個麻醉醫師無法抗拒的疑問， “他有沒有禁食?”
Oh~~當然沒有，好，那請他下午兩點再來。
他祖母說下午會帶他的爸爸來，但，他們再也沒有出現過。

11/16 Yes! He is my friend!

睡到快八點，不過昨晚應該算睡的不錯。
喝完牛奶洗杯子時Florence跟我說了幾句話，聽不太懂，
我以為是她昨天買羊剩下30磅要給我，她手上晃了晃一張紙，
說是買羊的收據。
大部分的人都還沒起床，自己煎了兩顆蛋當早餐。
先把油燒熱，再開小火，蛋就不會沾鍋了。
拿了Florence所謂的 “收據”。上面的日期是11月14日，
外加一些我看不太懂的英文字，字母看得懂，寫的似乎不是英文。
在端著煎蛋要離開時，我問Florence她是不是有30磅要給我?
她用手中的鈔票（昨天給她的）敲著桌子說
“No! you give me 30 ponds!”
